The Brit Civilian Duty was a very widely produced and issued mask to civilians during the WWII era for precautionary protection if gas was used such as during previous conflicts. This mask was produced during the beginning years of the war, the vast majority were produced during the war but some pre-war productions continued shortly after. Reissued masks had replaced parts and the stamps were updated, this example in the listing seems to have escaped the refurbishing / reissuing process and has remained original with the original 1942 stamps.
