A used and well worn out US made Small Box Respirator, of unknown size and exact model. The bag has been obviously worn and discolored over time but the only notable damage is shown the last picture being a small tear. The hose has been damaged and separated from the mask and there’s a notable tear where it joins with the filter. The mask has hardened with time and would have to be forced open if that was wanted. These items were provided to my law enforcement husband after the 9/11 attacks, and they have been in a storage tub since that time. Included is the gas mask and respirator by SCOTT and a gas mask carry bag by DeSantis. All items have been in plastic storage bags since receiving them. I did not remove from packaging for the photos, as I didn’t want to touch the bagged items. I know nothing else about the items other than what is shown in pictures. WWI FRENCH M2 GAS MASK & CARRY BAG. The French M2 Gas mask was a French made gas mask used by French, British and American forces from April 1916 to August 1918 during. The M2 was made in large quantities, with about 29,300,000 being made during the war. The M2 mask was designed by René Louis Gravereaux of Paris in 1915. This 2nd model was introduced in April 1916 was produced with two separate eyepieces, so folding it would not cause damage like the MK1. British forces were issued 6.2 million units of the second model between May and November 1916 and used it as late as August 1918. The US Army issued its soldiers the British-made Small Box Respirator to protect against Gas attack, and also the French M2 gas mask in case a mask had to be worn for an extended period of time. The M2 gas mask is newly made so is safe to wear by adults or children as no asbestos is present. Comes complete with rubberised bag.

US M17 A2 Gas Mask Large MSA w/ Nylon Carry Bag & Accessories 1984. Mask shows some scuffs over, lens show some scuffs & scratches, the elastic head harness has lost some of its elasticity and shows some dirt and the inlet valve is dented in slightly (See Picture #21) but this is still in good overall condition. A Large M17 gas mask is a Medium that has a large nose piece (See Picture #3). A large gas mask has the M above the forehead with a white marked’L’ added to it. Because the mask is used, the L is only lightly stamped. The Manual and the chemical paper show rusty staples. Please see all 24 Pics.
