Dutch WWII 1938 Model G Gas Mask Respirator + Original Filter / Carrier Bag -VTG

Listing is for a Vintage 1938 Produced Dutch Model G Gas Mask it’s Original Filter and Canvas / Leather Carrier Bag. Genuine WWII General Dutch Issue in Excellent+ condition! The Dutch Model G is from the Netherland government’s gas mask series, starting at A during WWI and ran until the 1960’s with the Model K. The Model F had excessive design flaws so it appears that the Model G was a corrected version of the Model F. Being the nature of close connection between the two, it’s assumed that the Model G design was already started after the Model F (1933) but wasn’t actually finalized and produced for actual issuance until early 1937. With the exception of the last used Model K (due to long period of usage and massive production) every other model in the Dutch Model series are all excessively rare masks and the earlier they are in the series, the more quite literally impossible they are to find. Most of the beginning models only have one or two known surviving examples and some Models don’t even have any known surviving examples at all; just text documentation. The Model series is typically very sought after because the Dutch were always unique with their designs, almost every mask in the series takes on a unique construction that’s unlike any other country. The Model F and the Model G are two of the more sought after masks of the series as they’re some of the most visually appealing masks of the series and there is never been another mask that even remotely looks similar. The masks are even rare in the origin country (Netherlands) but they’re much easier to find there compared to the rest of the world. However that comes with a grain of salt because the Netherland’s government has recently banned the export of these old era of masks due to the materials used in the production which has effectively made them nearly impossible to acquire now. This specific listing is for one of only a handful of these masks on US soil and this listing being with the proper bag designed for the mask, I believe it’s the only correct / original pairing on US soil. The bag may seem like something that always comes with the mask but that’s just not the case, this proper style of bag for it is actually rarer than the mask itself. I suspect it’s because the bag doesn’t seem to have been produced until 1938 where-as the mask started the bulk of it’s production in 1937 so there are just fewer bags than the masks. Another reason is because after the war, bags are still obviously very usable for other things where-as a gas mask is well, it’s a gas mask; so the bags get used until they fall apart where-as a gas mask would just be stored away. NEW, (I tried it on tho). This gas mask is a size SMALL my head is 23 around (measured around forhead) and it fits perfect. My face is proportional to the size of my head, and you want these to fit TIGHT, unless you have a LARGE face a small should fit you fine if your head isnt bigger than around 25 around. I have the filters in a sealed bag (one of the actual permanent sealing bags that seals with heat) with dessicats in it. I bought a new MOLLE pouch for extra filters, and a new Gas mask bag It just has some ID info on it in marker. The MILITARY/NATO/UN uses these masks, you can use them with either one CBRN filter on one side or both like it was made for. The back of head panel is completely adjustable and breathable, and super light and comfortable. I also have a new blacked out outsert if its sunny out and you dont want to use the clear one.
