British S6 SAS Nimrod Rare Gas Mask Full Kit Medium
&####127468;&####127463; Britain Respirator, NBC S6 dated March 1969 by Leyland Birmingham Rubber size Normal reissued in October 1970 by GD. The S6 NBC Respirator was developed in the 1950s by the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, or Porton Down, and was manufactured by the Birmingham and Leyland Rubber Company. The S6 Masks externals consist of a Synthetic Butyl Faceblank, two Plastic lenses, a large nose area, a 40mm NATO valve assembly, a very low-quality head harness assembly, and a small plastic voice-mitter assembly. The internals of the S6 mask feature an air-cushion peripheral seal to achieve an airtight seal, a loose rubber oral-nasal cup, an Equalizing Pressure Valve to keep the Air-cushion at a normal atmospheric pressure, and the metal valve assembly. The kit of the S6 mask differs greatly, though with this example it appears to be a mixed bag with this example of an S6 kit featuring an S6 NBC Respirator, two Mk. II Cansisters, a No. 2 Chemical Agent Detector Paper, two DPK1, a DPK2, a cleaning cloth, a Mk. 7 Anti-Dimming composition, a Survive to Fight booklet, and a 72 Pattern Haversack.

&####127464;&####127462; Canadian C4 Gas Mask dated November 1992 by Airboss size Medium. The C4 Gas Mask was developed in the early 1980s as a replacement for the older Light Anti-Gas Respirator (C3) style of masks, with the C4 being more reminiscent of the M40 series Protective Mask. The C4 mask had been scheduled to begin being replaced by the new C5 mask, also known as the Airboss LBM, but due to major Production difficulties this mask was put on the back burner and the C4 had continued to see Service, though the C5 is reported to be making a comeback at some point. The C4 mask features convex dual polycarbonate lenses which provides a very nice field of vision when wearing the mask, though soldiers have reported that this mask suffers from the same fish eye effect that the S6 and S10 suffer from which can cause Nausea and Disorientation. The filter for this is a stand-in British Protector EuroCanister AXP3.

Included is the gas mask and respirator by SCOTT and a gas mask carry bag by DeSantis. All items have been in plastic storage bags since receiving them. I did not remove from packaging for the photos, as I didn’t want to touch the bagged items. I know nothing else about the items other than what is shown in pictures.
