British S6 Gas Mask with Filter and Bag. This is a rare left hand version of the mask with the filter mounted on the opposite side of the face piece. These were made to allow left handed soldiers to be able to shoulder their weapon while wearing the mask. Relatively early production date of 1972, made by Leyland & Birmingham Rubber Company. The S6 was used by British armed forces from the late 1960s into the late 1980s. This type of mask was made famous through its use by the SAS during Operation Nimrod (the Iranian Embassy Siege). Condition of the mask is good overall. The rubber is supple and there are no tears or perishing. The rear straps still function, but there is some light surface corrosion on the metal fittings of the strap. The lens are clear and unscratched. The bag is in well worn condition, with several relatively faint stains, but no holes or substantial damage. More and more S. Game events, including airsoft games, are held actually, but there was a problem with hight-quality gear for such events. A lot of equipment was inconvenient in usage and wasn’t suitble for long-term airsoft events. The masks were heavy, made of cheap plastic and weren’t suitable for airsoft. GearCraft LLC solved this problem with development and production “P-1″ Stalker Mask. It’s a unique composition of real gas-mask, if we’re talking about the frontal part and the plastic mask, developed by GearCraft LLC with usage of their own technology. Besides that, it’s light and you can breathe free in it due to the special valve-breathing system. This is a special version that differs by a different attachment of the straps on the back of the head (five mounts, instead of four), which makes the wearing of this mask less comfortable than the basic version. Also, the internal valve is slightly smaller than it should be, the wearing of it may be less comfortable. Filters may be removed, replaced by hoses, etc. Use some details from real gas mask, which makes the mask more authentic. Fixed well at user’s head, suits perfect for long-term airsoft games.
