Eventually this did arrive and so now it is time to sell it on – you no longer have to go through the wait that I did! This mask looks to still be an excellent condition – no marks, scratches or markings left by its previous owner like you often see with these masks with no parts replaced by myself since I received it. The red’X’ stickers on the lens are removeable and used to help the (potential) user to fit the mask correctly, by matching up their eyes with the location of the X with the help of an observer. This therefore implies to me that this mask has not been used before, but as I have not been the sole owner of this I can not confirm this, hence why I have listed it as’used’. There is a noticeable strong non rubber / almost chemical cleaning smell noticeable when wearing this mask. As a reminder, this is a British made respirator so sizing is different/opposite to US gas masks. As I found on a website on Avon respirators. A general rule for determining size, is to know your hat size this can be done by measuring the circumference of your head (run the tape around the forehead area). Hat Size: 54/55cm = Small 56/57cm = Medium 58/59cm = Large 60/61cm = XL 62/63cm = XXL. Small = No4 Medium = No3 Large = No2 XL = No1. I personally wear a size 7.5 hat (61 cm). I was able to perform the negative pressure test in this mask on this mask and it passed (cover the inlet port and inhale – the mask collapses into my face with no leakage anywhere). My eyes also lined up appropriately as indicated in the last picture size guide as well as the red X stickers on the lenses, so I believe the guide/chart I found to be accurate. This is a real complete Mickey Mouse gasmask from ww2/wwII. It’s made for children use and were for kids in UK. The name comes from the American Mickey Mouse who was actually designed by Walt Disney. The story for the US mask was to make kids want to wear it because it’s Mickey Mouse and not a scary respirator. UK designed their mask with sharp colors so it looked more friendly. Later they also called it Mickey Mouse, but it never made sense and not even today because there is non Mickey Mouse look at the mask. This is a non used gasmask with intact filter. UK used blue asbestos in their mask, also activated charcoal and this mask contains it. Paper, instructions, mask and box are in the one of the finest shapes you can find and is a valuable historical piece from ww2. One of the hardest to find 58 Patt items! The original design respirator haversack, for S6 NBC mask, as issued with early 58 webbing, c. These are rarely found now – more commonly seen are the later square nylon bags which replaced them. These haversacks have a wedge shape, press stud and quick release tab closure, adjustable shoulder strap and cord that can be used to secure around back/waist. Some have prev owners name written on. RARE SOVIET HORSE GAS MASK / RESPIRATOR WITH BOX WWII / COLD WAR CAVALRY ORIGINAL. Status as on pictures. This is a very rare nice original relic WWII / Cold War Soviet Red horse gas mask / respirator + goggles with wooden box (Box size: 300mm x 300mm x 200mm) Never used. This horse gas mask is very similar in design to the WWII version, probably used also at the end of WWII. Like most horse respirators, this mask was probably used in conjunction with a gas proof cape and leggings. The mask fit over the horse’s snout, and was then strapped to the animal’s head via a series of belts. Used by Soviet / Red Army Cavalry soldier during WWII / Cold War.
