We came across one of these beauties. A late 1920’s M1A1 US Service Respirator. Packing list dated 7/29. In almost pristine condition for being almost 100 years old, with original packing slip! Vintage 1940’s Civil Service Gas Mask Respirator P. May 39 [G+] World War II. This is a gas mask that is date stamped 1939. It also has markings B. & M Ltd 1938. I’m assuming this was issued to members of the civil service. Vintage 1940’s Civil Service Gas Mask P. This is in very good condition for the age of the item, The rubber is excellent and has not degraded or cracked. It remains subtle and flexible and there is no damage around strap rivets. There is some tarnishing and surface wear to the visible metal around the eye glasses and nose section. The head straps and elastics are also very good.
