Navy Mark IV gas mask / service respirator set, with original filter canister, corrugated hose and canvas carrier. The mask and mouthpiece components have 1942-dated markings, as shown in the photographs. The mask also has molded U. Included are the rubber facepiece with lenses and head harness, detachable mouthpiece/valve assembly, long corrugated breathing hose, original filter canister, and canvas Mark IV carrier with straps and hardware. Important condition note: The mouthpiece/valve assembly is currently detached from the mask. The original wire and cloth binding/tape material used to secure it is still present and included. I have intentionally left everything exactly as found rather than attempting to repair or reattach it. The set shows considerable age and service/storage wear. The filter canister has surface rust and oxidation. The canvas carrier has staining, wear, small damaged areas and oxidation to some hardware. The rubber and straps show age, wear and deterioration consistent with an original 1942 item. Please examine all photographs closely for exact condition. Nothing has been cleaned, restored, repainted or repaired. The filter and mask have not been tested and are NOT being represented as safe or functional respiratory protection. A substantially complete, early-war 1942-dated U. Navy Mark IV gas mask set with its original carrier, hose, filter and detached mouthpiece assembly. Photos show the actual item and are the best description of condition. See my other listings for additional original WWII and U.
